Once you download our files, where do they go? Well, the computer compresses your downloaded files into a single zipped folder and places it in a DOWNLOADS folder on your computer. This DOWNLOADS folder location varies with each computer, but it is generally found under the MY DOCUMENTS or FAVORITES folder. (Right click on START-EXPLORE to find all the viewable folders on your computer.) You'll always want to save, not open, your files at the time of the download.
Once the new downloaded folder has been located (you'll see a little zipper on the folder), simply unzip it and extract its contents. CLICK HERE for tips on unzipping folders The downloaded folder will contain the word "archive" and the numeric format of the date it was downloaded.
How do you organize your files after the download? If you do not want the new downloaded files to remain in your default DOWNLOADS folder, simply rearrange them by "dragging" and "dropping" in the START-EXPLORE feature. We recommend that you create a folder called "MyVinylDesigner", and organize your files from there.
Some of the ways that you can organize your designs are to file them under:
1- topic folders like "home", "life", "christian", etc.
2- or, collection name folders like "Collection 2", "Child-Teen", etc.
A screenshot example is shown below. We suggest that you keep the individual file names the way we assign them, however, for easier reference. Your computer will automatically alphabetize them.
